The 2008 Bishop’s Annual Appeal
“Continuing the Mission of Christ”
Through Baptism, each of us has been called to discipleship. Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ leads naturally to the practice of stewardship. It is the special link between discipleship and stewardship which we celebrate in the 2008 Bishop’s Annual Appeal, Continuing the Mission of Christ.
By joyfully sharing in proportion to the blessings they have received, faithful disciples in the Diocese of Metuchen support a network of more than twenty-five charitable, educational and pastoral ministries at work here every day.
By your contribution, you become a co-worker in each of the services supported by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal.
As of April 08, 2009, our parish has pledged $52,466.12 or 89% of our parish goal of $59,000. Gifts from 400 families have been received which represents 34% of our parish membership. Please give a prayerful consideration to making a gift to this appeal.
True stewardship is not about how much you give but about participation and support. Please give prayerful consideration to making a gift to the 2008 Bishop’s Annual Appeal and please help us reach our parish goal. Thank you for your continuing support and cooperation. May God bless you and our whole parish family of Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Pentecost
Ninety days ago we were signed with ashes as we began our Lenten journey. We have traveled the road of Lent; celebrated the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ; and extended that celebration of the paschal of the paschal mystery for fifty days of the Easter season. Today we come to the conclusion of this ninety-day journey by celebrating the solemnity of the Pentecost.
Throughout the history of salvation, God’s spirit has breathed upon our all creation, bringing life and renewal. Today we commemorate those events and pray for an ever more generous outpouring of that same Spirit. Let our cries of gladness greet the good news, proclaimed in God’s living word, that the Holy Spirit is in our midst. With the psalmist we cry out, “Let, send out your Spirit and renew the face of the earth!”
To all our parishioners, guests and visitors to this website we wish a very Happy and Blessed Pentecost.
